In 2014, the company launched its first Android-based smartwatch that uses the TicWear OS that was based on Android.
Mobvoi announced that they had formed a strategic partnership with Google to work together on the development of the TicWear OS, which will run on Mobvoi’s watches, following the announcement that they had formed a partnership with Google.
As a result of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 4100 SoC, the company’s latest premium smartwatches have significantly improved performance and battery consumption as compared to their predecessors.

However, the smartwatches did not get the promised updates, even after a few months. As a result of waiting for some time, a user contacted their support team regarding the issue.
In that case, they were informed that the new watches would come with the latest OS revision pre-installed and that this would be the case in the near future.
Despite this, the article did not mention anything about updating the operating system of the old watches. As a result, users were left confused as a result of this.

Another user on Reddit shared an instance where they had asked the company about the same thing and they were unable to get a response.
In that instance, the company’s support team replied that the update would be rolled out later that year, but no definite ETA was provided for when it would be released.
Because there has been a flood of questions on the web forums related to the upcoming WearOS update, Mobovi has officially released a statement, though this time they dropped the claim that it will be released by the end of 2022.

Such a casual take on the matter is indeed frustrating and annoying for some people.
Many users believe that the WearOS 3 update should have been rolled out by now since it has been nearly 1.5 years since its announcement at Google I/O 2021. We do hope that Mobovi will release the TicWatch Wear OS 3 update for its smart wearables as soon as it can.
