Wolf Hall Season 2 Release Date: There is a new trailer available for the second season of Wolf Hall, called Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light, which was released today by the BBC. As Thomas Cromwell and Henry VIII respectively, Sir Mark Rylance and Damian Lewis return to the BBC drama that is based on Hilary Mantel’s final novel in her Tudor trilogy.
It’s been a long wait for fans to get their hands on the latest series, as the first season has already been released and it’s been a long wait, with the first season being released in 2015. There will be six episodes covering Cromwell’s final four years, as he ends his journey from a young, self-made man to one of the most feared, influential figures of the time during the last four years of his life. Wolf Hall season 2 is set in the summer of 1536, after Queen Anne has been executed. As the new series unfolds, it is anticipated that Henry’s scheming adviser Cromwell will emerge from the bloodbath following Anne’s beheading and continue his rise to power.

For the second season of Wolf Hall, Sir Mark Rylance and Damian Lewis will be reprising their roles as Thomas Cromwell and King Henry VIII, respectively. Aside from Sir Jonathan Pryce, who played Cardinal Wolsey in Slow Horses, Peaky Blinders’ Kate Phillips will also be reprising her role as Jane Seymour in this new adaptation.
Dame Harriet Walter, who was in Killing Eve, will be playing Lady Margaret Pole, while Timothy Spall, who was in Mr Turner, will be playing the Duke of Norfolk, and Harry Melling and Thomas Brodie-Sangster will play Thomas Wriothesley and Rafe Sadler, respectively.
