It has been reported that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released in September, according to Jason Schreier of Bloomberg. It was mentioned by Schreier during his discussion of the possible reasons for the Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League game that Marvel’s September release of SM2 might have been one of them.
Basically, here is what the deal is, a September release has not only been rumored for a few months now but also makes perfect sense from a business standpoint. As a matter of fact, it could serve as Sony’s response to Starfield which is scheduled to premiere on the 6th of September. However, it is likely that it will not release on the same date, but we can expect to see it a week or two after that.
A second reason for releasing SM2 in September is that Marvel’s Spider-Man was also released on 7th September 2018, so once again it makes sense to release SM2 at that time.
