A CIA operative, Tom Harris, portrayed by Gerard Butler, finds himself stranded deep within the hostile territory in Afghanistan as an undercover agent. In order to escape the elite special forces tasked with hunting him down, he fights his way out, along with his Afghan translator, to a point of extraction in Kandahar.
Additionally, Ali Fazal attended the Academy Nominees Luncheon in Los Angeles last week, alongside Guneet Monga, the producer of The Elephant Whisperers, and Shaunak Sen, the director of All That Breathes.

Ali Fazal Kandahar Release Date
The release date of Ali Fazal’s international project, Kandahar, has finally been announced. As part of the upcoming film, which also stars Hollywood sensation Gerard Butler, will be released on May 26, 2023. After the release of Death on the Nile last year, this will be Ali’s first international release in 2023 after the release of Death on the Nile.
While Ali Fazal is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Guneet Monga and Shaunak Sen were representing their Oscar-nominated documentaries The Elephant Whisperers and All That Breathes respectively.
